Discover Film also introduces filmmakers to funding sources for future projects. Often winning a prize at Discover Film will bring in many additional benefits as shown with previous winner Colin Gerrard. Winning the audience award in 2017 for his short film Eli, he stated that, “It was an honour to win the audience award at the Discover Film Festival. The exposure that it gave ‘ELI’ as well as the reception the film received has been a wonderful boost.”
