Why we can’t get enough of The Voice Kids UK
When I heard The Voice was going to do a kids version, I couldn’t think of anything worse. I know! It wasn’t fair on putting young kids through it for a start and had a vision of lines of young kids going through acting school hoping to one day be on TV.
So when I sat down to will.i.am, Pixie Lott, and Danny Jones judging the first-ever series of The Voice Kids UK presented by the lovely Emma Wills. I was ‘blown away.’
The Semi-Finals
The Voice Kids semi-final took place tonight (Saturday, July 15) at 7.30 pm. Excitedly the final will take place tomorrow, Sunday, July 16 at 7.10 pm – both shows are on ITV.
Pixie, Danny, and Will.i.am tonight faced the difficult task of eliminating talented members of their team from four to two. Tomorrow, 6 singers will go head to head in the finals – and it’s the public vote that decides the overall winner.
Why it works so well The kids are unbelievably talented. I think I have cried at every episode. Ok, I cry at most things. However, each contestant genuinely wants to win, but -and this is a big part of it – they are so lovely and to each other. Our hats also go out to Will.i.am, Danny and Pixie. You can tell they all love the show, each other and the contestants too. The show has made us happy and it has made us cry. We have burst with pride at the young talented artists, who most often don’t know how incredible they are and also at their parents dancing with pride in the background. Memorable bits
Danny was moved to tears by 11-year-old Tomos’s performance of Piece by Piece by Kelly Clarkson, relating to the young boy’s story of his dad leaving. Watch: Tomas performing Piece by Piece The audition where Jack played with Danny Jones was ‘sic’ – playing with this hero on TV. Watch: Sweet child o mine
