Join Plum’s 52-week savings challenge

I’m a huge advocate of the Plum app. I’ve spoken about it here before. I even mentioned it on BBC Five Live! So, when they asked me to share their 52-Week challenge to help you save this year, I couldn’t say no.

It’s the perfect way to help put money aside for expensive times of the year (like Christmas!). Saving a little each week makes a huge difference and, trust me, your future self will thank you.

The 52-Week challenge is designed to help you set aside up to £1,378 in a year. This is done with an easy, gradual approach.

Here’s how it works:

It’s simple:

  • In week 1, you save £1
  • In week 2, you save £2
  • In week 3, you save £3…

And so on, until week 52, when you save £52. By the end of the challenge, you’ll have saved a total of £1,378 – the perfect rainy day fund.

The money deposited from the 52-week rule goes straight into your Primary Pocket, unless you’ve used the app’s ‘Splitter’ to direct it to one of your interest-earning Pockets.

Things to know before you start:

The feature is available as part of Plum’s Pro, Ultra and Premium plans in the UK and, its Pro and Premium plans across EU countries.
