The Brits 2019

Brit Award 2019 Winners:

Each year I watch The Brits. The most iconic music event in the TV Calendar. Live TV always means something can go wrong. Where as The Brits appeared to be a rather drunken and disorderly night in the music calendar. The Brits is now more polished and well…grown up.

The Host – Jack Whitehall

Jack Whitehall looked remarkably handsome on the night and fortunately for all of at home..incredibly funny. Nothing worse than a host who thinks they are funny, but their jokes fall flat all night. We loved his attempts to get Little Mix to slag off Piers. Just polite sour faces all round. The Brits have kindly put together some of this best bits.

Let’s look back at who won on the night of the Brit Awards…

The Brits 2019

George Ezra wins Best Male Solo

Jorja Smith – Best Female Artist

21 year old Jorja won Best Female Artist, up against Florence + The Machine, Anne-Marie, Lily Allen and Jess Glynne. I thought Jorja looked a bit nervous up on stage, but she looked and sounded absolutely phenomenal. Watch her performance of Don’t Watch Me Cry below.

Jess Brit Awards 2019

Jess Glynne – Thursday feat. H.E.R.

I was blown away by Jess Glynne’s rendition of Thursday alongside R&B star H.E.R. Incredibly she fronted the stage surrounded by mirrors and models, who all took their make up off on stage. It was a poignant and incredibly beautiful performance, which had me in tears. Let us know what you think of his performance in the comments section below.

Tom wins British Breakthrough Act

First ever Brit Award, we won’t think it will be the last. Tom hasn’t released his first album, which is due for release this March.

British Artist Video of the Year

Little Mix ft Nicki Minaj won British Artist Video of the Year with Woman Like Me. Looking very raunchy in shocking pink, the stage was illuminated not just by colour but their incredible performance. Alongside Ms. Banks who took to the stage instead of Nicki Minaj.

Ariana – Best International Female

We can’t believe it is Ariana’s first BRIT, but won Best International Female despite being up against Cardi B, Camila Cabello, Christine And The Queens and Janelle Monae. 2018 really was the year that defined Ariana as the ubiquitous artist she has become and we are all waiting to see what she will do next. Ariana Grande has beaten record after after. She is now the first artist since The Beatles to have songs in the top three spots of the Billboard Hot 100 charts.

thank u for this incredible honor #brits ? i love y’all so very much and can’t wait to be over there again soon

P!nk – Outstanding Contribution to Music

Talking about pink, the one and only P!nk was recognised for her Outstanding Contribution to Music. P!nk has to be one of the most amazing performers and tonight was no exception. Beginning her set in a pink fluffy gown, she was lowered to the stage in a ring.

Bastille’s Dan Smith joined her on stage standing in for singer Nate Ruess to duet with her for hit song Just Give Me A Reason.

It’s not just us, who are big fans of P!nk…
