St Martin-in-the-Fields will host a celebration of light like no other with Space

This February, enjoy a spectacular five-day immersive and colourful light and sound experience. It runs from Tuesday 17th February to Saturday 21st February 2026.

St Martin-In-The-Fields’ beautiful exterior will be illuminated with sound and light. This will take visitors on an incredible journey. It redefines the experiential immersive art world by combining art, sound, history, and centuries-old architecture. The result is an extraordinary multi-sensory experience that lasts around 30-60 minutes. This is followed by a luminous 15-minute final seated sequence.

The show is perfect for a dark winter’s evening. It begins outside in the Courtyard. Visitors can enjoy drinks in our outdoor Courtyard Café & Bar. The colourful and immersive light experience then continues, illuminating the whole interior of the Church to bespoke music. It is a dazzling journey across the universe. The exploration of the cosmos displays the first rocket launch. It also presents the creation story and the Big Bang amidst an atmospheric soundscape. Lastly, visitors can Earth as if looking back from space under a galaxy of stars.

ST MARTIN-IN-THE-FIELDS PRESENTS SPACE BY LUXMURALIS

For one night only, immerse yourself in a Silent Disco like no other.

On Wednesday, 18th of February Luxmuralis will transform the space with a spellbinding constellation of ever-looping stars. In this unique experience, DJs will spin across three separate channels on your wireless headphones. They will offer everything from classics to today’s chart-toppers. The crypt comes alive in an entirely new way. Stars shift, flow, and orbit around you. You dance, wrapped in light.

Space is produced by the artist and renowned sculptor Peter Walker

Artistic Director at Luxmuralis. His work reflects a broad and innovative approach to storytelling through art. Luxmuralis is credited with creating ‘the stained-glass windows of our time’. They bring stories to life through an understanding of art and historical context. This understanding allows them to paint the architecture with light, combining the contemporary and the ancient.

Luxmuralis Artistic Director Peter Walker says: the vision is “bringing to life the stories and concepts of our time in a way that stained glass did generations before [and] it is wonderful to play a part in the contemporary life of St Martin’s, bringing this new artform and adding it to these centuries of artistic and cultural history.”
