WeMeet Unveils Line-Up of Social Events in London This May

WeMeet, the free social events app from solo group travel brand WeRoad, has announced a vibrant programme of events taking place across London this May — designed to help people connect in real life, without pressure.

New research from WeMeet highlights a growing challenge for adults in the capital: maintaining friendships, meeting new pals, and even organising a simple night out. Findings show 44% of people say it’s hard to meet others in the city, with a further 20% admitting they feel lonely when their friends aren’t around.  Only 23% report feeling ‘pretty good’ about having friends and social events to attend in their local area—43% struggle to find the right people to connect with IRL.

93% of us would like to meet new people in our city.

WeMeet offers a great way to meet new friends.  Users can discover events in their city, RSVP, follow favourite hosts, and receive personalised invites — all offering easy, low-pressure ways to meet people with shared interests.

From casual drinks and group dinners to activity-based meetups, the May event series is designed to make socialising feel easy again.

As more people look for meaningful ways to connect offline, WeMeet is positioning itself as a fresh solution to modern loneliness — helping Londoners turn intention into real-life interaction.

💗 BROKE GIRL TOP TIP

Go alone. Yes, really.

Turning up somewhere by yourself can feel approximately so much more terrifying than it actually is.

But here’s the thing: everyone is there to meet people. You don’t need to arrive with your funniest stories prepared or become best friends with someone before brunch is over.

Pick something you’d genuinely enjoy anyway — a walk, coffee, yoga, whatever feels like you — and give yourself permission to just show up.

Worst case? You had a coffee. Best case? You leave with someone to have the next one with.

And if you’re nervous? Arrive five minutes early. Walking into a room that’s already full of chatting strangers is a different level of character building!
