Carlos Gu, The Bitten Peach and Kakilang proudly present:
EAST & SOUTHEAST ASIAN PRIDE UK
Friday 24th July 2026 @ Electrowerkz – London 7 pm – 2 am
The inaugural East & Southeast Asian Pride UK by Carlos Gu will launch at London’s Electrowerkz on 24th July, bringing together queer East and Southeast Asian communities, artists and allies for an evening of performance, celebration and connection.
Presented by Strictly Come Dancing reigning winner Carlos Gu alongside The Bitten Peach and Kakilang, the event creates a dedicated space to celebrate East and Southeast Asian LGBTQIA+ identities and showcase the talent within the community.

“Moving to the UK was the first time I felt like I could be my true self. The British public has accepted me for who I am and has been so supportive. Creating East and Southeast Asian Pride is my way of giving something back to this country that has given me so much. It is a chance for us to celebrate the queer Asian community and the incredible artists within it. I know how important it is to have role models and visibility for our community. I’m thrilled to be working with The Bitten Peach and Kakilang to put on what is going to be an amazing event and cannot wait to showcase the brilliant talent we have lined up.” Carlos Gu
The evening will begin with a community market fair and drinks reception, featuring East and Southeast Asian charities, community groups and vendors, before a main-stage show of drag, cabaret, live music, dance and burlesque. The night will then continue with DJs across two rooms until 2 am.

Carlos Gu is a professional dancer and television personality best known for Strictly Come Dancing.
He became the show’s first Asian and openly gay champion, winning alongside former Lioness Karen Carney. Born in China, he is a former Chinese National Champion and international Ballroom and Latin competitor. Carlos joined Strictly in 2022 and will soon appear on Celebrity Hunted (Channel 4) alongside Amy Dowden, with whom he is also touring the UK in their live show, Amy & Carlos: Reborn.
The Bitten Peach is the UK’s premier queer Asian cabaret company
Founded in 2019, it was created in response to the lack of Asian representation across cabaret and theatre; the company brings queer Asian stories from the underground to major stages and audiences across the country. Their work spans drag, cabaret, burlesque, Bollywood, dance, circus and comedy, and they are currently developing the Arts Council England-funded touring production Zodiac: The Untold Story.
Kakilang is an ESEA not-for-profit organisation
one of only three Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisations dedicated to supporting East and Southeast Asian creatives, audiences and communities. Since 2007, it has worked with leading cultural institutions including the Barbican, Southbank Centre, Soho Theatre and BFI to champion diverse voices across the arts.
The event welcomes all members of the East and Southeast Asian LGBTQIA+ community, as well as friends, family and allies.
