‘Little Miss Baby Angel Face’

‘Little Miss Baby Angel Face’ is an exploration of Helen’s love for tragic situations and the competitive relationship she has with her Mum. They constantly egg each other on to get bigger and bigger reactions with everyone they meet and on occasions they completely fabricate situations!  Her mum currently has ghosts in her house and thinks in a past life she was on the ‘Titanic’. Helen’s Mum ran a ‘drama school’ from their house when she was small and clearly the drama continued outside of her work!

Helen dissects the current climate for Reality TV shows and especially ‘makeover’ shows – her passion!  She also discusses her own paranoia that she is living in the Truman Show! Other topics explored are crying (clear link into loving a drama) and how people are shocked by masturbation…

THE CRITICS ON ‘LITTLE MISS BABY ANGEL FACE’:

“ …her passion for all things tragic and her storytelling abilities you are guaranteed to laugh.  This show is not for the fainthearted but mark my words this girl is not going to be performing in small rooms for much longer”  SUNDAY EXPRESS *****

“…a force of nature who commands the stage. She may be 6ft 1in, but her personality is even bigger, and uses it to maintain absolute control. This is an impressive calling-card of a show, rightly earning its place on the best newcomer shortlist.” CHORTLE ****

“…supremely confident – high energy performance”   THE LIST ****

“… an hour of comedy so perfectly put together, you’d be forgiven for doubting this could possibly be someone’s debut show. Bauer darts across the stage, flowing from topic to topic with the know-how of an act who’s been onstage for years. Bauer creates great rapport with her audience, with each engagement folding seamlessly into the next segment, Little Miss Baby Angel Face is, without doubt, a stand out show, let alone a stand out debut hour.”  THE SKINNY ****

“…This is an incredibly strong debut, pretty soon all eyes are going to be on Helen”

FUNNY WOMEN ****

“…Bauer’s show is faultlessly put together. She’s committed to performing with an energy that is endearing, her ability to involve the audience has the confidence of someone who has been on the circuit for many years.”  BROADWAY WORLD ****

“…She has the confidence and self-indulgence of someone several Fringe shows in but thankfully it’s justified because her material is hilarious, her show is structured far better than a debut hour should be and her crowd work is some of the best I’ve ever seen, switching between crowd work and material seamlessly and without awkwardness. Some comedians you watch and can imagine straight away the sitcom they’d write and that was very much the case with Helen. Helen is a natural storyteller who doesn’t just tell jokes, she really brings them to life.” I TALK TELLY ****

“It is billed as Helen Bauer’s debut Fringe hour but I it appeared to be anything but that. Helen is a larger than life character, confidence oozes out of every pore as she grabs the gig by the scruff of its neck and doesn’t let go until the very end. This may have been Helen’s first Fringe but I’m sure it won’t be her last. The enthusiastic reaction to her show from both the industry and the public alike is well merited and her future looks both assured and bright.” ONE4REVIEW ****

“Bauer hits the Fringe hard with this compelling comedy debut which is slick, sassy and super satisfying. Bauer demonstrated a clever connection with the audience, never taking her eyes off us and involving us in many of her quips…a provocative, edgy repartee on a life spent in scintillating self-analysis, with lashings of ultimate bitch sparkle.”   BROADWAY BABY ****
