3. Write a letter
During the first lockdown, my mother and I sent each other letters. I will always keep these. I intend to write my mother a letter. In a lockdown era, where we buy things to make ourselves feel good. What would make your Mum feel happier than receiving a loving letter from you?
4. Send her a meal
So many outlets have put together Mother’s Day meals and goodies for the day. Surprise your Mum by sending her a special meal for the day, since we are unable to meet in person. Ring or FaceTime to make her feel special as if you are there with her.

5. What Mother’s Day gift is special to her?
You don’t need to spend lots of money to buy something special. Something can have sentimental value. A special meaning between you both. Look around for something to make her know you are thinking of her. I bought my mum an Avon Lavender Gift Set for £10 as I know she loves them and the colour purple!
How to make Mother’s Day special in lockdown
Whatever stage you are in life. Whether you are an adult and are apart from your mother. You are an expecting or new mother. Have a family of your own. Or sadly are missing your mother this Sunday because she is no longer with us. It’s a special day regardless.
This year as many of us have spent a year away from loved ones. I have seen my mother once, and during lockdown she was diagnosed with cancer. I missed my window to go home as I was self-isolating and then Boris locked down London and it was illegal to leave after midnight. The last person who had a midnight curfew that strict was Cinderella. What gives us hope is that soon we will be reunited. If you are with your family this Sunday, then make sure your little ones make you feel special!
