2. How sweet is your love?

Sweets? Chocolates? Maya Angelou said that people won’t remember what you said, but they will remember how you made them feel. Chocolate gives a serotonin buzz which is a feel-good drug.

3. Write a letter

During the first lockdown, my mother and I sent each other letters. I will always keep these. I intend to write my mother a letter. In a lockdown era, where we buy things to make ourselves feel good. What would make your Mum feel happier than receiving a loving letter from you?

4. Send her a meal

So many outlets have put together Mother’s Day meals and goodies for the day. Surprise your Mum by sending her a special meal for the day, since we are unable to meet in person. Ring or FaceTime to make her feel special as if you are there with her.

Marks & Spencer £20 Meal in Deal for 4 (Main, 3 Sides & Dessert).

Morrisons £20 Afternoon Tea Box – This box includes everything you need to enjoy a traditional Afternoon Tea at home, it includes classic Ham & Cheese and Egg Mayo sandwich fillers and also features some of our The Best range with All Butter Sultana Scones, Strawberry Conserve, Sparkling Sicilian Lemonade and Lightly Salted Crisps. £5 extra with prosecco.

5. What Mother’s Day gift is special to her?

You don’t need to spend lots of money to buy something special. Something can have sentimental value. A special meaning between you both. Look around for something to make her know you are thinking of her. I bought my mum an Avon Lavender Gift Set for £10 as I know she loves them and the colour purple!
