London’s famous hot tub boats transform into floating swimming pools as temperatures soar
Skuna Boats battles the London heatwave with a dramatic ice bath stunt and the launch of their new lido boat experience.
As London bakes in a scorching summer heatwave, the city’s iconic Hot Tub Boat experience is officially turning the temperature down. Skuna Boats, located in the heart of Canary Wharf, has announced it is swapping its signature cosy woodfired heat for a refreshing, crisp swimming pool vibe, dropping its Hot Tub Boat water temperature to a cool 28-30 degrees.

To prove just how refreshing summer on the water can be, the team at Skuna kicked off the season with a dramatic stunt: filling a boat with 2 tonnes of ice (supplied by their friends at Ice Box), creating a world first, Ice Bath Boat.
Whilst Londoners don’t have to brave a freezing ice bath unless they really want to, the stunt highlights the launch of the new Skuna experience, the lido boat.

A Private Mini Lido Without the Crowds
Instead of fighting for a square inch of water at a packed public park or a crowded lido, groups can now hire London’s only private, floating ‘swimming pools’
The adjusted 30-degree setting offers a perfect, refreshing dip for a hot afternoon, whilst still allowing for a perfectly warm soak during a breezier evening sunset.
“When London hits a heatwave, you have to improvise,” says the team at Skuna Boats.
“Think of our boats this summer as a private mini lido for you and your crew. Hot sun, cool water, but with the exact same epic views of the Canary Wharf.”
Key Summer Features Include:
● Customisable Temperatures: Boats can now be filled with cool, swimming pool temperature water.
● 100% Private: No sharing lanes or getting splashed by 400 strangers.
● Drinks Available: Guests can purchase ice-cold drinks and captain’s hats from the Skuna desk to sail out the heatwave in style.
The cool-down cruises are now operating throughout the peak summer weeks. Because dates fill up as fast as the temperature is rising, Londoners are encouraged to grab their crew and claim their boat before the sun goes down.
