The witching hour is upon you…

Hailed as fearless performers and skilled writers, Katie Norris and Sinead Parker are set to lure you into their web of dark and surreal comedy like two black widows in Lycra. This is debauched sketch comedy for lovers of the strange, the sordid, the musical and the dark. The Witching hour is upon you….

…“it calls to mind Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s BBC Three hit Fleabag. There can be no bigger compliment… Good unclean fun.”  THE TELEGRAPH ****

‘Burn the Witch’ is sketch comedy at its finest

‘Burn The Witch’ was a hit with audiences and critics alike in Edinburgh garnering 4 and 5 star reviews that rivalled the success of their 2016 debut ‘See You At The Gallows’ which was one of the Top 10 Best Reviewed Shows that went on to sell out a run at Soho Theatre.

“… fine, funny writing and skillful comic performance.”     THE GUARDIAN ****

“…sketch comedy at it’s finest”  VOICE MAG *****

Known for the dark, surrealist world they create with their characters, Burn The Witch is no different and welcomes audiences to Phallus Ridge, “the saddest town in the North West” where the cliffs are shaped like penises and there is a growing hysteria at the threat of sex witches and women in general. Ambrose and Prudence Cheesebrow try and protect their mute son Oedipussy and their farm from lechery and other sins. Other locals include sassy business woman Jean Finger, Irish landlady and psychic medium Gypsy Peg.

“…Racy, filthy, angst ridden work from two hugely creative ladies.” DEFINE ARTS ****

“…wonderful and the downright daft” THREE WEEKS ****

A whole host of crazy bitches

The show will explore the threat of female sexuality, hysteria, repression and present a whole host of crazy bitches. Alongside this is an underlying narrative between Norris and Parker themselves as they overshare their personal lives through songs, interpretive dance and arguments. Their material is inspired by the film The Witch, Sweeney Todd, Twin Peaks, The League of Gentlemen, Father Ted and Coronation street.

“… a joy to watch…both performers are absolutely fearless with the audience.” SHORTCOM ****1/2

“…Dangerous & dirty, brash & bolshy, wild & wicked…. A true treat.”  MUMBLE *****

Their original score is composed by comedian Huge Davies who reprises his role in the show. He is one of the most promising and unique acts in the country, was a finalist in the Amused Moose National comic awards and has recently filmed for “Comedy Central at the comedy store.”  The show is directed by Tom Hughes, staff director to Rufus Norris at the National Theatre (currently working on Amadeus) who won the off-west end award for “Best Director” in 2017 for “Punk Play” by Gregory S Moss.

“…A loud and rampant hour of dark sketches and deliriously created characters”   THE LIST ****

Norris and Parker are fearless and inventive performers, who are willing to go above and beyond in pursuit of a laugh. Unexpectedly topical, deliciously dark, sexually liberated and above all else, utterly mental- Norris and Parker are reinvigorating the double act, one aghast audience at a time.  They have a podcast “Norris & Parker’s Sketch Therapy” and the second series is out in Feb 2019. This year they were selected for the prestigious Cat Laughs ‘Wild Cats’ mentoring programme 2018 as part of Kilkenny Comedy Festival.

“…Excellent… comedy for lovers of the strange, the sexy, the musical and the dark.”

THE SKINNY ****

The duo met at the Manchester Met School of Theatre shackled together by a shared birthday, a shared flat and a shared infatuation with Kate Bush. Their growing reputation and fan-base has seen them perform all over the country, and last year Hull Truck Theatre invited them to be part of their supported arts scheme.
