Woohoo, it’s Friday!
Not only is it ‘Make Music Day’, ‘International Yoga Day’, ‘World Music Day’, it’s also ‘Take back the lunch break day’… it’s also Selfie Day!
One thing these all seem to have in common…they are all about being creative and having fun. So instead of focussing on one of these, I thought I would chat about how we should spend today thinking about all of the creative things we love to do, but don’t. Even if you love taking pics…ok selfies on your phone, just go mad today!
Make Music Day | World Music Day
I love music. It’s the one thing that de-stresses, energises and makes me feel happy. Nostalgic. At work, we have a playlist on all day, which apart from the angst songs, really fills up the room and keeps the energy high. It’s also Friday!
International Yoga Day
I have wanted to find a yoga class for so long. It’s slightly overwhelming reading up on the different classes, but I have wanted to find something which relaxes and calms the body.
What’s more, is that you can sign up to FREE Yoga classes in London!
1. Sweaty Betty offers free in-store classes – nationwide
2. Yogarise in Peckham – Peckham
3. London Buddhist Centre – lunch time classes with a donation
4. London Fields Yoga – Hackney (average £12)
5. Frame – Various city locations (introductory offer of 2 classes for £20)
Take back the lunch break day
I work in an international office who love sampling all of the foods in the area. Unfortunately, I spend more than I like – I must start bringing in lunch! Yet with so many stalls and cuisines on offer, I have strayed from eating at my desk to going out for lunch and eating with the others. It’s a more sociable occasion and it’s great to chat to colleagues. So despite the fact it’s Friday, the week before a huge event, I am working on. It’s time to take back the lunch break and spend time with all of the great people I work with.
Selfie Day
Phone cameras are really exceptional these days and with the variety of photo editing apps, you can create amazing selfies on your phone. I love capturing the moment with friends and taking selfies to celebrate moments in time you never want to forget. My favourites are Snapseed for editing photos. So get out and about and take some selfies with friends today.
