London Independent Pictures announce the award-winning new film, GHOSTED.
Daniel Pacquette directs this highly anticipated, topical romantic comedy (As Bad As Me, Magnificent Dribble, Due Dating) and is written by, produced and starring Jade Asha (The Intent, Villain, Badness, Due Dating).
Ghosted has already garnered 12 awards, including the Hollywood Gold Award for Best Indie Feature, the New York Movie Awards for Indie Feature Silver Award, the Cinematic European Film Festival award for Best Actress and the Anatolian Film Awards for Best Actress and Best Comedy.
Ghosted embraces the much-loved values of a traditional romantic comedy but with a relatable modern-day twist.
The film is based on true events in lead actress, writer & producer Jade Asha’s life and is described as ‘Fleabag meets Annie Hall’. Jade says: Every time I went through yet another breakup, I would turn to a romcom to reassure myself that I wasn’t the only one going through this torment. I decided to turn my experiences into a film in the hope that I could help others. I also wanted to create relatable characters; British, diverse, and with money struggles – like the people in my world.”
The film focuses on Mercy, who returns to the dating scene after a bad breakup.
The film focuses on struggling actress Mercy, who returns to the dating scene after a bad breakup. Confident that meeting guys is easy.
Turned down for a one-night stand with nice guy Michael, she turns to dating apps to speed up the rebounding process. Mercy’s girlfriends push her into meeting American architect Blake, who she falls head over heels for on their first date. Fearing that she may never see him again, she decides to take fate into her own hands and does everything she can to keep him in the picture, even at the expense of her own life and career, but Mercy risks losing more than just the man of her dreams.
Ghosted boasts a cast of exciting, diverse new talent, including Byron Swiegers (Black Sails, Bad Influencers, Due Dating), Kevin De Groot (A Real Vermeer, Bon Bini Holland 2), Alex Montagnani (Cage Fight, 100% Nylon, The Underdog, Devil You Know, Due Dating), Chloe Alderstein (The Intent, Red Carnation), Tara Hoyos Martinez (The Last Rite, Miss Universe), Rosie Jane (Doctor Who, Due Dating), Todd Von Joel (Eastenders, Holby City, Silent Witness, The Intent 2), Jennifer Aries (Call The Midwife, Ripper Street, Breeder, Due Dating), Jordan Pitt (Montana, Storm House) and Leah Glater (The Good Wife).
It’s really empowering being able to take control of my career in this way. Ghosted is my film debut as a producer; it certainly hasn’t come quickly, easily or without sacrifices, but the cast & crew have been incredible”.
