Pancake day in London
I thought I would pull together some of my favourite hotspots for eating pancakes in and around London. As well as let you know what they are up to on Pancake Day! Just look at some of these scrumptious pancakes. You can also get involved in the Leadenhall Pancake Race as well as a three-legged pancake flipping race at Where The Pancakes Are.
Have a flippin’ good pancake day at The Breakfast Club, BOXPARK Croydon!
24th February – 1st March | BOXPARK Croydon
The Breakfast Club is back with five new Pancake flavours as they celebrate Pancake Day at BOXPARK Croydon from 24th February – 1st March.
On Shrove Tuesday, The Breakfast Club will be serving up a menu of five fluffy pancake specials, in addition to its classic stacks. Keeping up with the five-year tradition, the infamous Pancake stack challenge is back for those who think they’re up to the test of eating 12 pancakes in 12 minutes.
The specially created menu will be based on throwback pub grub classics, featuring a hearty vegan twist on the British classic – Bangers & Mash, presenting vegan sausages, sweet potato mash, red cabbage & apple sauerkraut, fried onions and gravy.
Chocoholics can indulge in the opulent ‘All the Chocolate’ pancakes with chocolate frosting, flake, cherry compote, a glorious scoop of ice-cream and pecan praline. Or treat yourself to the perfect sweet and savoury combo with their ham, egg & chips pancake, served with grilled pineapple and honey-mustard glaze.
Feeling competitive? Get ready to test yourself with The Breakfast Club’s ultimate Pancake Challenge, whereby diners have to munch through a stack of 12 delicious pancakes in 12 minutes, on 25 February. Those who pass the test will win themselves a free meal and those defeated will be donating to The Breakfast Club’s initiative to combat loneliness and isolation among the elderly by taking their pensioner pals out for a fun day out.
The Breakfast Club will also be launching additional dishes to add another layer to the Pancake Day celebrations. Cereal lovers can sample ‘Great Balls of Deep-Fried Cornflake Ice-Cream’ paired with butterscotch apples & a stout syrup to warm you up the proper way this winter.
For those wishing to participate in the Pancake Challenge, there’s no need to book – just head straight to any of the nine Breakfast Club cafes throughout London on 25 February to take part.
