Adam Rowe’s jobcentre joke crowned ‘Dave’s Joke of the Fringe’
Hot off the press for the Edinburgh Fringe are accolades for 26 year-old Liverpudlian comedian Adam Rowe who has just been awarded Dave’s coveted Joke of The Fringe 2018 for his joke about working in a job centre.
“Working in the job centre has to be a tense job. Knowing if you get sacked, you still have to go in the next day…”
2018 ‘Undeniable’ Tour
Adam’s 2017 show ‘Unbearable’ was a total sell out at both the Fringe and his UK tour, both of which were entirely self-produced. Fans turned up in their droves with queues around the block.
Adam returns to the Fringe for his 3rd consecutive year. ‘Undeniable’ is an uncompromising, brutally honest stand-up show, which has been packing out Just The Tonic’s largest venue The Big Cave for the month of August. Adam will embark on a tour throughout the UK, Ireland & USA post-Fringe.
‘Undeniable’ takes a close look at how background, class, race, sociological issues, mental health and personality all either hinder or aid your journey in life. Adam thinks you can turn (what seems to be) your biggest weakness into your biggest strength.
The show looks at how prejudice, whilst often an abhorrent trait, is part of human nature and how it can be used in a very positive way. Sometimes tunnel vision, determination & self-belief can often be mistaken for arrogance & selfishness, but are those things in fact necessary in becoming Undeniable?
Adam was raised by an alcoholic single parent in one of the roughest areas of Liverpool. However his combative & positive nature refuses to let this start in life hold him back. He’s determined to take the lessons he’s learned & characteristics he’s developed from these circumstances and use them to get absolutely everything he wants from life. This is an inspiring & uplifting show about how you can achieve anything you want, regardless of where you come from and what your background is.
His online stand-up clips have amassed over 50 million views in total over the past year. Earning him fans all over the globe. He’s been featured by Ladbible, Unilad, Comedy Central & is a regular contributor to Liverpool Football Club’s fan channel – The Redmen TV.
“…There’s nothing I’ve ever wanted more than to be a touring comedian, so this is literally the most exciting thing that could ever happen to me. I feel really, really lucky to be getting an opportunity like this as it’s usually only comics who have a wealth of TV appearances behind them that get the chance to do a tour of this size and I haven’t had any TV exposure yet. This is all only possible due to people watching and sharing videos of my stand-up online, which is really cool and something that I’m extremely grateful for. I’m really proud of this new show and I just want as many people to come out and see it as possible. It’s about my insecurities, but you’d have to really over analyse it to see that. On the face of it, it’s an hour of opinionated, brutally honest stand-up about my working class background, growing up in Liverpool and the last year of my life. Come see it, it’s going to be boss.” ADAM ROWE
