Lucky Dips: Eve-Yasmine releases amazing neon music video

Rising star Eve-Yasmine releases her amazing neon music video for new single ‘Lucky Dips’

Headliner at The O2 Academy Islington, Music Artist, Actress and Songwriter Eve-Yasmine has just announced her music video release for her new single ‘LUCKY DIPS’.

Hailing from North-West London, Eve-Yasmine collaborates with Casablanca based music producer Jewlz for her Pop Rap single ‘Lucky Dips’. Watch the colourful visuals here ‘‘Eve-Yasmine – Lucky Dips (Prod by Jewlz) Official Music Video’’  Featuring her North-Weezy twang, signature catchy ad-libs and deep yet playful lyricism ‘Lucky Dips’ shares her rollercoaster ride as an indie artist self-funding, going broke and picking yourself back up again from a dark headspace.

I wrote Lucky Dips when I returned from Los Angeles. I’d had the best trip ever creating with so many talents, A&R meetings and exploring my skills. I returned back to the UK and was stuck on a rush-hour train back at my day job at the time, which I’ve since quit. It touches on getting out of an environment that your body is giving you every sign to get out of.

In contrast, the video shot at Pop Golf UK at her local Boxpark Wembley is a rainbow delight. Directed by Director MontecarloDream (Afro B, Sarkodie, Papermaker Star) and starring choreographers & dancers MsLawrensky and Kim Stark, the dance moves and bad-ass empowering attitude makes you wanna be part of Eve-Yasmine’s girl squad.

Interview with Eve-Yasmine

How has life been since I last caught up with you?

Eve-Yasmine: Life is great thank you! I’m thankful for the people in it and the opportunities I’ve had in the past year. Also as a result of my break from recording due to my hyperacousis it ultimately pushed me to get into acting and that’s going really well! So a negative turned into a huge positive!

Tell me more about your collaboration Jewlz for your Pop Rap single ‘Lucky Dips’ – what does the phrase mean?

Can you believe I wrote this back in 2019?! And also myself & Jewlz have never met in person, we’ve always communicated and created online together! He is based in Casablanca, Morocco. I recorded the song with Stylez J who engineered the track.

Lucky Dips is inspired by the childhood sweet filled party bag, the one where you don’t know what you’ll get inside until you dip your hand in! Representing that trial and error, not knowing what’s next but dipping in any way! This represents my journey as an independent artist – trying different avenues to get heard, working hard, going broke, then working hard again and investing in the music! It’s an ongoing grind but it will pay off! I believe that!

What inspired the sensational neon look?

Why thank you! I’ve always loved bright colours and happen to be drawn to neon tones. I knew I wanted to wear a pink skirt and when I found that latex skirt I knew it was the look! Combining green was a bold choice but I liked it! I ripped the sleeves off the crop top I wore in the single artwork to create a new but consistent style for the music video. I brought various options with me and it was my Mum’s idea to style choreographers & dancers MsLawrensky & Kim Stark in neon green too – I loved it, the looks brought everything together and complimented the venue so well too! They looked amazing!

You have just made your acting debut in Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal’! Congrats? Tell me more about it, and your role as Stella?

It was a beautiful and emotional experience! Taking my parents to see the film in the VUE cinema was surreal. This was my first time ever speaking and acting in Punjabi. Stella plays Pooran’s (Gurnam Bhullar) best friend who encourages him to go back to Punjab to connect with his roots because only then will he become successful in his career pursuits. The incredible script by Rupinder Inderjit makes you laugh, cry and fully invest in this beautiful story. It’s such a wonderful film and I had an absolute blast working with the cast!

What’s next and what else can we look forward to from you?

I’m currently rehearsing for my first pro play ‘Allah’s Own Country’ playing one of the lead roles ‘Saira’ – we are performing this RAFTA Award-winning play at Rich Mix, I’m really looking forward to it. The team is brilliant. And music-wise, I want to record the songs I have written over the past couple of years and put an album out there. I will make it happen, I’m determined to!

So yes 3 M’s will be the focus this year – music & movies & motivation!
