Each month, I thought I would feature one of the amazing blogs I follow. To showcase some of the other blogs out there and what inspires me. I have personally been following ‘dorkface’ for a few months now, run by blogger Jemma who we decided to contact to ask a few questions. Dorkface recently featured in Buzzfeed as one of the 18 blogs to subscribe to in 2018.
Dork face is both funny and relatable, not matter what your age (but, the more colorful you prefer your hair, the more you’ll love this!)
ABOUT: My name is Jemma, I’m 29 years old and I’m a full time Artist and Blogger! I love being a creator, and so opening my Etsy shop was a natural step for me, to paint, illustrate, and create whatever I was inspired to, and share it with the world! I love to make things that are colourful, fun, and happy. I’m a very small business owner, and my dream is to just keep going, and make enough to not give up! 🙂

How did you feel about being in Buzzfeed’s blogs to read in 2018?
I was amazed to not only be noticed, but to be named in that list as a blog to watch was so fantastic! It felt like I shouldn’t give up hope, and it gave me a new wave of gratitude and motivation.
How would you describe your blog to other people?
A collection of lifestyle issues, creative ramblings and a snippet into my life behind the scenes.
What motivates you and what advice would you give to other girls?
I’m motivated just to want to create something I’m proud of. I do something that makes me incredibly happy, and I just want to be able to look back knowing I gave it 100%. If anyone else had creative pursuits they wanted to try, I’d encourage them to go for it and never hold back! Life’s too short for self doubt. What inspired gifts do you recommend for Xmas? I always think going with a personal touch is invaluable! No matter who you’re buying for, something like one of my custom illustrations always goes down well!
Can you tell us what you have in store for 2018?
I plan to branch out into other creative adventures, trying out new media and products, pushing myself. I also hope to do my first craft fairs, and approach brands regarding creative collaborations! :)!!).

People say write about what you know. So I did. I founded Broke Girl in the City – a smart girl’s guide to leading a fabulous lifestyle on a budget! A career spanning entertainment, bars & nightclubs (and frequenting them), film, music and TV, there isn’t much I don’t know about how to have fun in the city when completely broke.
